I Am the Traitor The Unknown Assassin Allen Zadoff Books

I was lucky enough to win the first two books in printed version. Needless to say, I absolutely needed the third one too, so I chose to buy the hardback cover.

I Am the Traitor was as entertaining and fast read as the other two. Sure, I questioned <s>Ben</s> <s> Daniel</s> Zach's choices at times. Yet, although he's trained and brainwashed, he's still only a sixteen year old who's been fighting it. I agree that he was a little more naïve in this installment than he was in the other two. Maybe it's because I was seeing it from another perspective, but yeah, Zach, what were you thinking?

Seriously, I know there were parts that seemed a bit farfetched. I won't say more lest it would reveal spoilers. Yet, over all it did the job and surely didn't disappoint. While the author claims it's the last one of the series, the way the book ends could very well make for the budding of a new one. We'll see.

I Am the Traitor The Unknown Assassin Allen Zadoff Books Reviews

Although the sentence structure is very simple, this style works well for the voice of 16-year-old Zachary Abrams, a no-nonsense teen assassin, trained by the nefarious "Program"
our grandson loved it
Love it! Excellent book
Although this book ended the series in a rather flat fizzle, I generally have enjoyed this series, and this book was pretty enjoyable.
While this is a fun read, and I really did like the main character (Zack), I found it predictable. Also, the ending is VERY weak! It was almost like he got sick of writing and just ended it. Not only is it incredibly unrealistic, but it just ends. It would have helped even if there was epilogue would have helped immensely! Too bad, I enjoyed the series till this book. A little bit of a let down.
*Slight spoilers but not really*
Not a bad end to the trilogy. I will say I feel like the ending was a little rushed if not somewhat lacking in substance. It all happened very fast and for a climax for both the book and the trilogy, I would have liked it to maybe be a little bigger given the buildup over 3 books. Constant flashbacks about his father throughout all three novels and he gets reduced to a a few pages of exposition. I get that that's how he felt about his father, but maybe a little more explanation would have helped it flow better. Even "Father" (the operational one) had a better ending than "Mother" did and she ended up being the ultimate "villain" in the end. Overall though a well written series.
This was an exciting trilogy! I'm sad to see it end. I hope Allen reprises these characters for new adventures.

It's hard going into details without giving it all away, but this book, as the others, left me intrigued. Once I started I couldn't put it down. We see Zach's transformation from book one, and we realize that he IS the perfect soldier, one that uses his mind, instincts, and humanity to get the job done. Howard and Tanya are awesome sidekicks, revealing to Zach that it is possible to have friends, but also to ask for help.

I could go on, but again I don't want to spoil it for the reader. This book and the trilogy is a good choice for your reading pleasure. I know it was written for young adults, but I've recommended the reading to all my friends. My son and I read the series together, so we were comparing notes during reading. That was fun too!

Hit "add to cart" people! You'll be glad you did!
